This past week was a very busy week for me. Since the anniversary of Anne Boleyn's execution was approaching and I had received several requests to create an Anne doll....I spent a good number of hours doing research for this "Historical Spooky" doll. I love history though, especially English history, so I enjoyed every minute!
Today, May 19th, is the anniversary of the execution of Anne Boleyn. If you're not familiar with Anne Boleyn, she was the second wife of King Henry VIII and mother of Queen Elizabeth I. Anne failed to quickly produce a surviving male heir and in just two and a half years after their wedding, a plot was led by Sir Thomas Cromwell to replace her.
Although the evidence against her was unconvincing, Anne was beheaded on charges of adultery, incest, and high treasonn in 1536.
Although the evidence against her was unconvincing, Anne was beheaded on charges of adultery, incest, and high treasonn in 1536.
Anne's ghost (sometimes seen carrying her head) is said to now haunt a number of locations....including the Tower of London (her place of imprisonment, trial and execution), Blickling Hall in Norfolk and Hever Castle in Kent. Blickling Hall and Hever Castle were both owned by the Boleyn family, but Hever Castle is considered to be the childhood home of Anne.
According to records, Anne wore a red petticoat under a loose, dark grey gown.
My "Ghost of Anne Boleyn" doll is listed this week on eBay and her auction runs until Sunday May 25th.

My other doll listed on eBay this week is a sweet, little pumpkin doll named Cinnamon. She's a revisit to a pumpkin character that I created last year. Her eBay auction runs until Friday May 23rd.

Thank you Melissa! I really appreciate your compliment! It means a lot to me!
LOL! And thank you Chris! Poor Anne! Her and I wrestled quite a bit...took me three tries to get her head straight! LOL! Believe me...it's much easier sewing their heads onto their little necks! Whew!
Hugs to you both!
