GHOULTIDE GATHERING.....HERE WE COME!

Just wanted to let you all know that I will be leaving in the next few days to attend GHOULTIDE GATHERING held at Mill Race Village in Northville, MI! I am so excited to be one of the Halloween Artists who will be doing this amazing show! You can read my Ghoultide artist interview HERE.

If you live anywhere near there (or far away).....it will be well worth the trip to see all the amazing artists along with their wonderfully wicked art!

Just look for the orange Enchanted Tent with the Enchanted Productions tombstone sign to visit us and the little Enchanted Ones!

This year is the first that there will be a preview night on Friday night from 6pm-9pm. Cost is $20 which includes a free Ghoultide Tote, live music from the Appleseed Collective, refreshments and candy treats. Tickets will go on sale at 2pm Friday afternoon next to the General Store as you enter the village. The price of the preview will also get you into the show on Saturday from 10am-2pm.

Saturday's ticket price is $5.

The little Enchanted Ones are simply dying to meet you!

Greets everyone!

Preparations for Ghoultide Gathering are well underway and we are now in "Halloween High Gear" here at Enchanted Productions! I have set up 5 separate work stations and simply float between them throughout the day and evening. One station is where I apply the eyes and do most of my hand stitching...another is for machine sewing, costuming and detailing, one is for painting and two are for table displays, props, and decorations. It's quite an operation, but does seem to help stream-line the process a bit. However, it is a bit creepy...since there are heads and body parts virtually everywhere.

Remember...if you can...come visit the Little Enchanted Ones at Ghoultide Gathering this year...they're dying to meet you!

This is one of the promo shots that we took for Ghoultide Gathering. It's of the "Ghost Bride" and she'll definitely be there and eager to meet everyone. June's EHAG Emporium

Greetings everyone and welcome to my first EHAG Emporium sale of 2011. It's been a busy start to the year, but I'm hoping to be able to participate in the Emporium more in the upcoming months.

Available for direct purchase tonight is this sweet, but ornery little one.

May I introduce to you...Miss Scarlet Pumpkiniggle.

Miss Scarlet is an Enchanted Productions Original and will arrive at your home signed, dated and tagged.
Miss Scarlet measures approximately 14 inches tall and her bottom and legs have been weighted.

Miss Scarlet is sewn of osnaburg muslin, features the hand stitched Enchanted Productions 3-D eyes, hand painted facial features and the newly designed pumpkin stem for 2011. Her little pumpkin noggin' measures approximately 3 inches wide. Her pumpkiny dress is constructed of black silk, black satin and black velvet. It has been accented with tattered antique lace, black ribbon, grey ribbon, a purple velvet millinery flower and vintage black glass button. She is wearing black satin bloomers, a double layered, black tulle crinoline and her wee little arms are wired for gentle posing too.

Here she is pictured with her older brother, Alistair, who is now available on ebay. Look...she's about to kick him in the shin! I told you she was an ornery little one.

I'm popping in for just a moment to share the latest Little Enchanted One that's available on eBay this week and to give you all a quick update on my Ghoultide Gathering preparations.

First of all, I'd like to share with you Miss Webrina Spiderling! Recently, I was sorting through a box of old lace (in preparation for another lace sale) when I came across this wonderful spider web lace! Now I have to ask you....how perfect is that? Not only did I let out a little squeal, but I think I even did a little jig! LOL I still have a little left over, so I'm sure you'll be seeing this lovely, spooky lace again....on someone!

As for my Ghoultide Gathering preparations...Well, I seem to be moving at a snails pace...or at least that's how it feels to me. I'm beginning to get a little more nervous with each passing minute. In fact, the "Ghoultide Panic Dreams" have already begun...and it's only May! Just the other night, I dreamed that I was setting up at the show. My display was up and in place, tables coverings, decorations, etc. etc...everything looked wonderful and then (to my horror) I realized that I couldn't find any of my dolls! They were nowhere to be found! Talk about a feeling of panic! Yikes! In the dream, I eventually did find a plastic tote that contained 3 small dolls...but that was it. LOL! Lordy, let's hope these dreams are few and far between!

Well, it's time to get back to sewing!

Miss Goth 2011 and the Unlucky Escape Artist

Greetings everyone!

Oh dear, I've been such a bad little blogger lately! It seems that my spooky little world has been caught up in a whirl wind of orange and black ever since the invitation to participate in Ghoultide Gathering appeared in my inbox earlier this year. (Believe me...I'm still pinching myself) There's been much planning and preparations involved and I've been trying to divide my time between creating for ebay and creating for Ghoutide. Recently, I've been spending a lot of my time designing, creating and constructing my display props for this amazing show, but now the time has come for me to focus on the actual Little Enchanted Ones that will be traveling to Michigan this Fall. I have about 9 pieces already completed, but many more ae in the works. I sure hope you can join us in Northville this year for a ghoulishly good time.

With all of the show preparations though...it has been a challenge to create for my collectors on ebay. However, this week I do have two new Little Enchanted Ones available.

The first is "Good Golly, Goth Molly"...Miss Goth 2011.

Enchanted Productions Antique/Vintage Lace Sale!!!

Greetings everyone!

For those of you who don't follow me on FaceBook, I have an announcement to make! Enchanted Productions is now having a HUGE Springtime Antique/Vintage Lace Sale...along with vintage fabrics, trims and various old bits and pieces.

Recently, a girlfriend (who works for a local auction house), called to tell me about an auction that she thought I might be interested in attending. All she really said was that it was part of an estate auction of a woman who collected, restored and made dolls and that there were boxes of old lace that I might like! Well, that turned out to be the BIGGEST understatement of the year!

The auction, which was just for this doll maker's supplies, was scheduled for 10 o'clock the very next morning and since my work schedule is always insanely busy...I almost didn't go. I already had a nice stash of "old lace", but because my girlfriend never calls me with auction tips...I decided to rearrange my schedule, take an hour or so and drop by the auction house just to check it out!

Well...HOLY MOLEY and WOWIE COWIE!!! My eyes almost bugged out of my head as I walked through the doors and peered around at the tables filled with boxes and boxes of "dolly goodness"!!! In fact, I really wish there had been someone there to take a picture of the expression on my face, because I know it would have been priceless! I stood there motionless for a few moments, allowing it all to sink in and giving myself time to catch my breath! I thought to myself...this was no ordinary, casual doll maker...which is what I had assumed! This woman knew what she was doing and must have been a serious expert in the field of antique doll restoration! Later, that was confirmed (just before the auction began) when her daughter got up and spoke to the auction goers about her late Mother and her love and passion for antique dolls.

Immediately, I hurried to register, got my bidding number and established my beachhead in the first chair, 5th row back, center aisle! I thought to myself...if only I had had a bit more notice...I would have taken out a 2nd mortgage on the house! It was a small crowd, but after the auction began, it soon became apparent that there were several "doll restoration/enthusiasts" in the crowd that had obviously had advanced notice and in fact, had already taken out 2nd mortgages on their homes! The really good stuff began selling high...and I'm not going to talk numbers, but I did (successfully) go head to head with one of them over some of the lace! : )

Long story short...(and to the horror of my poor husband) I came away with 17 boxes of doll making goodness! Mainly lace, ribbons, trims, feathers, beaded trims and vintage fabric! I'm not quite sure what I was thinking and my eyes were definitely bigger than my belly...but I guess I just got caught up in the "dolly supply frenzy"! It's now been over 2 weeks since the auction and there are still boxes that I have not sorted through yet!

As you can see by the picture of the table above...(and that's only 2 boxes of the lace)...I now have more antique/vintage lace than any one woman (in her right mind) could ever possibly need! We have a very small house and so...I've decided that I have to part with some of it! I know (for certain) that there is some lace that I will never be able to use on the Little Enchanted Ones (due to it's size), but that would look absolutely gorgeous on the prim goodies and sewing projects of others!

Soooooo...the sale begins! Lori "Nana" Davis has so kindly made me a banner and has generously offered to help me list all of my "lacy goodness" in her Village Gift Shoppe eBay site...the very same place where you find the Little Enchanted Ones!

You will find some of the lace listed in "lots", while other really nice pieces are being sold individually...also, be aware that we are listing them as 3 day auctions! We are listing new auctions almost daily...so place us in your favorites...and check in often, so you don't miss out on some wonderful goodies!

As I sort through the boxes, I'm beginning to run across some "already made" doll clothes (in various sizes) and old baby doll dresses. Those, along with other ribbons and trims, will eventually make their way to our eBay site as well!

Greetings everyone!

That's the sound of the Little Enchanted Ones giggling with ghoulish glee! This past weekend, we received the invitation to participate in this year's 5th Annual Ghoultide Gathering and...might I add that the excitement here at Enchanted Productions is through the roof!

Pumpkin Pete nearly passed out upon hearing the news.....

Shriekin' Savannah let out an ear piercing squeal.....

And Aunt Ophelia has been joyously singing at the top of her lungs ever since!

I am honored and ever so grateful to Scott Smith and Stephanie Rawson for the opportunity to be a small part of this amazing Halloween show. Thank you for making this dream come true!

Now it's time for me to get busy! There's so much to do and so little time! I know it's still 7 months away, but it will be here before we know it and I already have so many ideas swirling through my little head!

Also, to all of my wonderful collectors out there...I just want to thank you for your constant support and to let you know that I will continue to offer my work on ebay, while I prepare for this amazing show.

And The Beat Goes On.......

Hi everyone!

I know I haven't been online much, but it was a very busy weekend!

Many of you who know me, will remember the tragic event that my family experienced last year. This past weekend marked the one year anniversary of the motorcycle accident that claimed the life of my cousin's son, James Short. He was 24 years old, a professional skater, talented singer/songwriter/musician and an inspiration to many people. He was hit by a drunk driver, while riding his motorcycle, and it was 1 year ago today that he died from the injuries he sustained in that accident.

It was such a devastating time for everyone that knew him and in the days immediately following his death, I turned to my art to help me deal with my overwhelming grief. Thank goodness for my art! I ended up creating this "James doll" for his parents and tried to capture his loving, happy spirit and carefree smile.

I know that my family and his friends will never get over the loss of James, but since James was an organ doner....we did take some comfort in knowing that a part of James would live on and continue to give the gift of life....somewhere.

This past weekend, we held the 2nd Annual James Short Memorial Skate Session & Concert at our local skate park. The skate park is a place where James, not only spent every available minute, but he helped to design it as well. The last time James was there was when the funeral procession detoured to the skate park and the hearse drove in and stopped for a moment while the procession waited.

This year, as we all came together, to celebrate and remember James' life, we had a very special guest in attendance. This is Paul, his wife, his daughter and son. (another daughter and son were unable to attend) Paul is the recipient of James' heart! Now there are certain times in life when all you can say is..."WOW"...and this was one of those time! Paul and his family drove all of the way from Massachusetts to attend the memorial benefit, celebrate James' life and (for a few days) bring James' heart back home to us!

There were many touching scenes as friends and family were able to experience that "WOW" moment and feel James' heart beating!

Thank you Paul...for bringing our James back to us! It was an honor and pleasure meeting you and your family and I look forward to seeing you again next year!

Goblins and Cookies!

Well...I went down to the Village Gift Shoppe today for one last snuggle with Mr. Willy T. Goblin before he heads out to his new home! He's kept us on our toes all week, but I sure am going to miss this little guy!

He even received a special little package in the mail from "the ever so sweet" Kim Short Herzog of Kim's Artistic Confections! Here Mr. Willy is reading (or at least pretending to read) the delightful note she included! Mr. Willy T. was sooooooo excited! I think he could smell the cookies before we even opened the package!

So....for his going away party....we all sat around and had some delightfully spooky cookies!

(gobble, gobble, munch, munch....Mmmmmmmmmmmm)

After our party, I did take Mr. Willy T. aside and gave him some last minute instructions. Be NICE....be GOOD....BEHAVE!

An Afternoon with Mr. Willy T. Goblin!

Yesterday, I took Mr. Willy T. Goblin down to the Village Shoppe to meet and have lunch with Nana Lori! He was quite civilized too! (I was pleasantly surprised) He ordered a Chef's Salad and even used a fork!!! However, I believe he thought that the ham was actually bits of the Chef, becasue he made the comment that it was the best Chef he had ever tasted! After lunch though, things got a bit crazy!

After lunch, while Nana Lori and I tended to some business, Mr. Goblin amused himself by playing in the gift shoppe. Here he is after climbing into a basket.

Then he decided to climb on top of a little wooden church to ring the church bell.....over...and over....and over again!

Mr. Goblin soon became bored in the shoppe though! I only turned my back on him for a moment....and out the door he ran! That's when things got reeeeeally out of hand! Of course, Nana and I gave chase.....but believe me.....goblins can run much faster than middle aged women!!!! First, we caught a glimpse of him swinging from a light fixture on someone's porch!

Before we knew it....he was climbing the Village Clock!

Then it was a sign on the Village Square!

Mr. Goblin managed to give us the slip by hiding behind an old cannon in front of Town Hall....but not for long!

Where in the heck Mr. Goblin found this bicycle....I'll never know!

Nana Lori and I both knew we were in big trouble once he had a set of wheels!

Eventually, we managed to lure Mr. Goblin back to the shoppe with a trail of cookies....Goblins just LOVE cookies....and peace was restored to the Village of Gnadenhutten once more!

Who: Children ages 10-14

The winner will be announced by September 7, 2010
Where: Online at the EHAG Facebook Page and EHAG Blog click on the links for more information regarding the contest
How: Parents email an image of your little ghoul's Halloween themed artwork to ehaagartists@hotmail.com along with the young artist's name, age, date, contact info, title of piece and medium used.
Prize: $100 gift certificate for art supplies from the winner's art supply store of choice.

Hi everyone!

July 19, 2010, will mark the 150th anniversary of Lizzie Borden's birth and on August 4, 2010, it will be 118 years since the gruesome murders occurred in Fall River, Massachusetts. Once again, I've decided to create a Lizzie Borden doll for those that continue to be fascinated by Lizzie Borden, the mystery that surrounds the murders and this notorious, unsolved crime.

It was a hot summer day on August 4, 1892 in Fall River, Massachusetts. Around 10:45 a.m., Andrew J. Borden returned to his family home after tending to some business dealings. Little did he know that his 2nd wife, Abby, lay dead on the floor in the upstairs guest bedroom, a victim of a brutal axe murder.....and that her grisly fate would soon await him. At the time, there were only two other people in the home.....the maid and Andrew's 32 year old spinster daughter...Lizzie Borden.

I, for one, am absolutely fascinated by this unsolved murder case and someday, I hope to visit the actual house where the murders occurred. In 1996, the house was converted into a Bed & Breakfast...which is perfect for those of us who enjoy the creepier side of life!

Oh dear, I've been such a bad blogger lately! With the arrival of Summer, and the added outdoor work that comes with it...it seems as though I'm always in need of a few extra hours in my day! However, I must say that the vegetable and flower gardens here at Enchanted Productions are looking quite magical.

Hi everyone! Almost two years ago, I came across a pair of old dental pliers at our local antique mall. Immediately, visions of the Scary Tooth Fairy came to mind, so I've been planning this little enchanted one (Miss Abby Cess) for quite some time!

Phineas....The Phantom of the Cornfield!

Hi everyone!

Oh my goodness...I'm so excited! I feel like a proud Mother watching her child stand for the first time! May I introduce Phineas...the Phantom of the Cornfield!

You know, I probably should have taken work in progress photos this past week...it definitely would've added to the hilarity of this post...but that was the last thing on my mind.

Now, dolls standing on their own two legs, attached to wooden bases, is nothing new. However, it's new to me and Phineas is the first little enchanted one to stand on his own! I've been pondering this construction for a long time, but frankly, I was a bit nervous. Me and power tools just do not mix well and someone usually ends up injured and bleeding...I'll let you guess which one.

Anyway...to make a long story short...Me and Phineas wrestled round and round this past week, but it was a huge learning experience for me! Now, I'm not sure about you, but sometimes with my artistic enthusiasm, I can get a bit ahead of myself, which is exactly what happened. I was so focused and concentrating so hard on enabling this little one to stand...that I completely forgot to dress him before I permanently attached him to his wooden base! So there he stood, in all his glory...(a very proud moment indeed)...until I realized (to my horror) that he was completely naked! Simply adding a skirt would have remedied the situation...but I couldn't imagine the Phantom of the Cornfield running around in a dress...he definitely needed pants.

So....many hours went into retro fitting him with a pair of pants...but all in all...I think he turned out well. Next time, I'll try to curb my enthusiasm and actually draft a well thought out list of the steps I need to follow! LOL!

The Ghost of Imogene!

Hi everyone!

This past week, me and Lori Davis (my awesome photographer), finally had the chance to get back out to one of our local graveyards for a photo shoot! It was an dark and overcast day, which we love! However, it was drizzling rain, which meant we also had to juggle a huge (red and white) golf umbrella...along with Miss Imogene and the camera. In fact, several times Lori had to inform me that the umbrella handle was in the shot! Ooopsie! LOL!

However, despite my cumbersome and unruly umbrella, Lori's shots of Imogene turned out spooktacular! Sooooo...without further ado...I'd like you to meet "The Ghost of Imogene"!

It was a dark and dreary day

Must Be The Season of the Witch!

Hi everyone!

It's been exceptionally busy here at Enchanted Productions lately! I've been conjuring up lots of spooky goodies and trying to prepare for the busy season. At last count, there were at least several dozen or so little enchanted ghoulies at various stages of construction. Some are naked, some are half dressed, some just have eyes (that's the creepy stage) and some are finished. The ones that are finished are just sitting around, playing with their toes, until it's their time in the spotlight. I'm also working on a series of sculpted figures of some of my favorite past doll characters...but those won't be ready for a few more months. I'll share more about them once their time is closer.

By the way, EHAG will be having a black and white challenge coming up during the first week of May....and PFATT will be having a Mother Goose PFATT Tuesday challenge during the third week of May. I plan on participating in both challenges....although I'll be putting a Halloween spin on the Mother Goose theme....LOL....of course....so be on the lookout for those goodies as well!

This past week was a witchy week around here! I absolutely love creating witches and I have two currently up for auction on ebay.

The first is Pyewacket...inspired by my black cat from over 25 years ago. She was an awesome cat! Of course, she was named after the black cat in the old Jimmy Stewart movie "Bell, Book and Candle". I used a "scrunching applique" technique to create her skirt...using small scraps of black silk, satin, ribbons and velvet. I also included some hand beaded accents.

Alice in Pfattland...With a Halloween Twist!

Hi everyone!

Yay! It's time to celebrate the return of Pfatt Tuesday! The ebay artist's group PFATT...Primitive Folk Art Tea and Talk...(of which I'm a proud member) has decided to resurrect Pfatt Tuesday. It's an event when participating members work in their own style, guided by a chosen theme, to create a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of art. We then all list our creations on ebay at the same time. It's so much fun to see how each member interprets the theme. For the return of Pfatt Tuesday, we chose the theme "Alice in Pfattland". Of course, since I consider myself a Halloween artist, I had to put my own Halloween twist on the Alice theme. I also had so many ideas swirling in my head with this theme...that I'll be continuing the Halloween Alice theme beyond this week.

Daffodils, Birdies Chirping and Mummies!

Ahhhhh......the sight of little daffodil sprouts in the flower beds.....the sound of birdies chirping in the morning and Mummies! Must be the beginning of Springtime in Ohio....or at least here at Enchanted Productions! giggle*giggle

In fact, I think there's something a bit odd about the soil here at Enchanted Productions. Last Fall, I planted a Mum in the side garden in my backyard....and when I went out to check on it the other day....I found this little mummy fellow had sprouted up in it's place. Hmmmm! Now....I'm almost afraid to go check on the snap dragons! wink*wink

He looks a bit perturbed too...don't you think? I have a feeling that he thought he would be sprouting up in the Valley of the Kings....instead of in the Tuscarawas Valley here in Ohio! giggle*giggle The winning bidder will definitely have to keep an eye on this little one! He may be capable of quite a bit of mischief!

The Penny Tree Charity Auction and a Touch of Spring with a Halloween Twist!

Hi everyone! I'm sure, by now, you all know that PFATT's charity auction for the Penny Tree has begun! It's a gorgeous, bronze feather tree that's covered with beautiful, handmade, one of a kind ornaments, that have been donated from over 30 of the talented PFATT artists! I've also had the privilege of seeing this amazing tree in person and I can honestly say that it is truly breathtaking!

It is our goal to raise awareness, come together and stand in support of our PFATT sister, Penny Lamont McAllister (who is currently undergoing treatment for Leukemia), and spread a few smiles along the way! Let the Haunting Begin!

Welcome everyone! The witching hour has finally arrived! Pay no attention to that spooky, creaking sound though...it's just the big doors of the EHAG Emporium as they swing wide open!

For this first month's offering, I've conjured up this ghoulishly, lovey-dovey couple! This two doll set wall hanging is entitled "Til Death Do Us Part...And Then Some". giggle*giggle It measures approximately 20 X 16 and is designed to hang nicely on your wall (although they would sit as well).

These two love birds have been hand sculpted using paperclay over fabric bodies, sanded, hand painted and sealed. Can't you just feel the love in the room as these two gaze lovingly into each other's eye sockets? LOL!

Their outfits have been sewn primarily using black Dupioni silk and their hands are joined together with a black shriveled heart.

No, no, no....not the Backstreet Boys!

Although, I must admit...to my husband's horror...I've actually watched their Halloween themed video "Everybody" on YouTube a few times in the past few weeks...just to get back into the Halloween spirit! Thank goodness I didn't have far to go! LOL!

No...I was talking about my spooky little enchanted ones! Recently, I realized how much I've reeeeeeally missed creating lots of spooky goodness...so I'll warn you now...hold onto your seats...cause there's a big wave of ghoulish goodies coming your way!

I've also realized how much I've missed wandering through cemeteries with Lori Davis on our photo shoots! Believe me...if it hadn't been for the fact that it was 128 degrees below zero here...we would've been out there this time! (OK...well maybe it wasn't quite THAT COLD...but it sure felt like it!) Brrrrrrrr!

An Angel Named Jane, an Issue of ADQ and a PFATT Blog Holiday Giveaway!

Hi everyone!

I hope each and everyone of you had an awesome Thanksgiving this year! I know I sure did! Normally, me and my husband host the family Thanksgiving, but this year my sister-in-law wanted to have it in her new place...and she did a wonderful job! The table was beautifully set, the feast was delicious and a good time was had by all! Mostly importantly though, we all got to spend some well deserved time together. With the hustle and bustle of busy schedules, it's always nice to come together as a family.

Lately, it seems that there's been a profuse fluttering of angel's wings here at Enchanted Productions! I love creating angels at this time of year...which is a good thing, since my Santa dolls seem to cause small children to run screaming from the room. Two years ago, after I had designed my signature 3-D eye pattern, I decided to make my first Santa. He wasn't exactly a traditional "old world" Santa...but he still had the long robes, long flowing beard and jolly demeanor! When I took him to Lori's for his photo shoot, her young granddaughter, Jadyn, was there and I was excited to see her reaction to my first Santa doll. Well....she took one look at him and went running, screaming from the room! She would absolutely NOT have anything to do with him. Now...mind you...this is the same child that giggles at and cuddles all of my spooky, creepy witches and skeleton dolls! LOL! Go figure! LOL! So, since then, I've decided I'll pass on making Santa and stick to elves and angels!

This week's angel is named Jane and I've designed her in a Regency style, Dupioni silk gown. Very reminiscent of Jane Austen..whom she's named after. Her eBay auction runs until Sunday December 6th, 9:30 pm EST....so if you get a chance...pop on over and check her out!

Happy Havoc, Merry Mayhem and a Sweet Little Angel

Hi everyone!

Holy cow! Where does the time go? It's been almost two weeks since my last post and I hang my head in shame! I've been so caught up in creating for the holidays that I've completely neglected my blog duties! (Bad Joycee...bad, bad, bad!) I am definitely going to try to be a better blogger from now on....I promise! In fact, it's already at the top of my "New Year Resolutions" list....written in big letter with red crayon!

So...now that Halloween has past....(sniff*sniff)....we've arrived at that Holiday time of year when things can get a little chaotic...if we're not careful. With all the shopping, wrapping, gift giving, feasting and family gatherings....it can be the perfect recipe for havoc and mayhem. That's why my first offerings for this Holiday season were named "Happy Havoc" and "Merry Mayhem". Two little, slightly sinister Elfette sisters....that have a lot of potential to turn Santa's world upside down.

Celebrating Edgar Allan Poe!

Happy Tuesday everyone!
Goodness...there's only 11 days until Halloween! Where did the year go? Since there's so much to do and so little time...I'm popping in here for just a moment.

This week I've decided to celebrate the Master of Macabre....Edgar Allan Poe! Born on January 19, 1809, this year marks the bicentennial of his birth. Edgar died on October 7, 1849, at the age of 40......so this year also marks the 160th anniversary of his death.

This Bicentennial Poe also comes with a handsculpted, spooky paperclay cake and cake stand. He is now currently up for auction on eBay and his auction ends Sunday October 25th...9:30 p.m. EST.

Be watching on eBay later this week for other spooky ornaments and Poe related items from Enchanted Productions....where everyone is a little sweet and a little spooky!

It appears as if I've disturbed one particular spirit during my cemetery wanderings though! I'd like you to meet Shriekin' Savannah! Rumor has it that Savannah wasn't a very pleasant person in life....and from the looks of it....not much has changed in the afterlife either!

It was another busy weekend this past weekend! Our local show, dispite the threat of rain, was a success! Lots of show goers visited the Village Gift Shoppe booth, found some awesome Halloween/Fall goodies and kept Lori Davis and Hope Johnson (co-owners) very busy! I was hanging out with them on Saturday and had the chance to talk to many of the customers. Shriekin' Savannah was also on display in the VGS booth...and to my surprise...she behaved herself very well! Whew!

Yesterday, I spent most of the afternoon sculpting creepy ornaments...so stay tuned...they'll be making their appearance soon.

Also, this month's theme for the EHAG (Eclectic Halloween Artists Group) members is Edgar Allen Poe! I absolutely adore ol' Edgar...so I have a few Poe goodies in the making too!

It's time to get back to work...so have an awesomely spooky and creative week everyone!

Stop By for a Visit!

Hi everyone! The leaves are beginning to change color, there's a crispness in the air....and Halloween is only 22 days away!

I just wanted to pop in for a minute and invite all of you (who live close) to stop by the Village Gift Shoppe booth this weekend at the Dover Band Boosters Fall Craft Show! It's located at the Dover High School and it's always an annual event this time of year here in the Tuscarawas Valley. I'm sure you'll find lots of awesome Fall/Halloween goodies!

In fact, I'm busy finishing up a few smaller items that will be available in the VGS booth and I'll be there too...hanging out with Lori and Hope, tomorrow (Saturday) morning...so if you get a chance, stop by and say "Hi"!

Also, I just wanted to share a few pictures that were taken at the Ghoultide Gathering Show (last weekend) in Northville, Michigan. It was the first time that Lori and I were able to attend this show...and it was simply awesome! Talk about getting into the Halloween spirit! The artists were wonderful and the Halloween art work was stunning!

Aren't those papier mache pumpkin heads fabulous?

Happy Monday everyone!

Oh my stars....it's going to be a very busy week! I'm currently working on two new "littles ones" for my eBay listings for next week, plus I'm also putting the finishing touches on a special order. I'm getting super excited though, because I'll be leaving on Friday to attend the long anticipated Ghoultide Gathering, in Northville, Michigan, on Saturday October 3rd. I just know it's going to be an awesome show! I can hardly wait to see all of the spooky Halloween goodies that the Ghoultide artists have to offer! I'm also looking forward to finally being able to meet many of my Pfatt and Ehag friends in person!

Well, I think I better share with you my latest "little enchanted one"....and then it's back to work for me!

Giant Pumpkins, Caramel Apples and a Sinister Little Fellow!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I tried to update my blog yesterday, but for some strange and mysterious reason, the "techno~computer~gremlins" decided to have some fun with me and thwarted my every attempt! In fact, I had trouble with numerous online computer tasks yesterday...so finally, in a state of sheer, dumbfounded frustration, I shrugged my shoulders, gave up and went to the County Fair with my hubby and friends! Today, everything in my little computer world seems to be running smoothly.

Our County Fair, on the other hand, was delightful! Of course, we had a blast and I had to indulge in my usual Fair food goodies...with my most fav being a big caramel apple with peanuts!! Mmmm mmmm mmmm! Gotta love the County Fair!! Check out the huge pumpkins too! The blue ribbon winner weighed in at 976 1/2 lbs and set a new Fair record!

Yes...it's that time a year again. There's a crispness in the air, the faint smell of wood smoke swirls about and darkness falls much earlier than normal. It's also that time of year, when we need to be very careful....because at times, we can find ourselves in places where we shouldn't be after dark. Oh I'm not talking about old cemeteries....I'm talking about the cornfields!!!! But if, by chance, you ever do find yourself by a cornfield after dark and you hear a slight rustling sound.....my best advice for you would be to RUN!!!!! Run as fast as you can....and don't look back, because you just never know what might be lurking just beyond those tall, ominous stalks of corn!

You know, in these parts, for generations....parents have warned their children to be home before dark and with good reason too!

Some say that there's a little creature that skulks about at this time of year.

He's been known to spook the livestock.........

Steal every ear of dried corn from the corn cribs, and even send the most fearless of watch dogs whimpering back to the farmhouse.

This little creature is known as Cobby, the Cornfield Creeper! He is quite the charmer though....in his own little sinister way!

A Gathering, My Latest Offering and a Memorial Benefit

Happy Monday everyone!

It was a busy weekend around here this past weekend, so I'm looking forward to some good coffee, soft music and lots of quiet time in the studio today...plus maybe a nap this afternoon.

On Friday, we had the largest gathering of Enchanted Productions dolls ever! Why such a gathering you ask? Well, our local newpaper is planning on doing a story about my work, so we all had to get a little spiffed up and smile pretty for the nice lady photographer! Lori D. managed to snap a few shots too during the shoot.

It really was a rare occassion too....usually, once a doll is finished, it's sold and shipped off to it's new home within a week, but it just so happened that....with the ADQ (Art Doll Quarterly) dolls still hanging out with us, my Spooky Time Jingles dolls waiting for adoption and the new James Short Memorial doll....the table top was quite crowded! It was so fun to see them all together, although, I did bump the table once and we experienced a "domino effect" of epic proportion!!! No one was seriously injured though. Whew!!!

If you notice, there's a little pumpkin ornament peeking through the slats of the bench! giggle*giggle

Saturday and Sunday was the Fall Open House at the Village Gift Shoppe...so I stopped by for a little while and chatted with some of the customers. We also had to ready the third ADQ doll for her auction, which is currently running on eBay. Meet Esmerelda Moon! Her auction runs until Sunday September, 20th. James D. Short 1985-2009

On Sunday, my family and I attended the James Short Benefit Dinner and Concert. In case you don't know, James was my 24 year old cousin, who recently died from the injuries he sustained in a motorcycle/car accident. (He was struck by a drunk driver) He was only a few years older than my own son and, through the years, I watched him grow into an awesome and talented young man. His friends organized the event and it was absolutely amazing! I can't even begin to tell you how awesome it was to see everyone come together to celebrate James' life.

James not only inspired so many others with his positive attitude about life, but he followed his dreams and lived life his way! His favorite saying was "It's all good!" He was a professional rollerblader and accomplished singer and song writer. During the concert, his former band mates came together and treated us all to a set of James' songs. In fact, for their last song, they had managed to isolate one of James' vocal tracks from a recording and played it through the PA while they accompanied it. It was such an amazing moment....to hear James sing with his band one last time. Believe me....I don't think there was a dry eye in the place!

I miss you James! Thank you for all of the hugs, giggles, love and laughter that you gave to me during the brief time that you were with us!

You'll always be in my heart you ROCK~n~ROLLer! Roll in Peace!

Hi everyone and Happy Wednesday to you all!

It's just wild and crazy around here now, so if I've been a bit quiet here in blogland...you know why. I've been sewing about 12-14 hours a day lately...and if I'm not sewing...I'm sculpting. In fact, you may be seeing some Enchanted Productions Halloween Ornaments soon...if all goes well!

This past week...I conjured up three of my favorite themed little ones! Witches...of course!

Who Knew?

Happy Monday everyone!

I know....I know...this is a little later than my usual "bright and early" Monday morning post...but at least it's still Monday! LOL! It was a busy morning this morning, filled with numerous phone calls, appointment to be made, emails...blah...blah...etc...etc. The usual Monday morning tasks...but it seemed that every time I sat down to start this post...I was called away for one reason or another. Well...it's finally quiet around here now...so I figured that I should probably jump at the opportunity to take advantage of the eerie silence!

This past week, I decided to give a little wink and a nod to the performing arts! Many of you know that I absolutely adore the stage and I that I began working in theatre, years ago, during High School. Oh...but never as a performer...No..No...I always worked back stage! I worked with the props, costumes, wigs, make-up and sets. I guess I just always felt more comfortable off in the wings...or behind the set and curtain...although there was that one night where I did play a dead British Soldier...carried out onto the stage on a stretcher, covered from head to toe with a British flag...but that's another story in itself.

Anyway, this week I decided to add a bit of a Halloween twist to an Opera Diva....and Viola!!!

It's Official!

Hi everyone and happy Friday! Well...it's finally official! Four of my "little enchanted ones" have been featured in the upcoming Fall issue of Art Doll Quarterly and like any proud Mother (artist)...I'm just giddy with excitement! Not only am I excited to see my little ones in print for the first time, but to also be featured along side so many other doll artists that I admire and respect is a real scream for me.

As you can see, Scott Smith of Rucus Studio, is featured on the cover...and what a fabulous cover it is too!!! The Fall issue of Art Doll Quarterly should be available in book stores within the next few weeks or it can be ordered online at from Stampington & Company.

Now I'm not going to share with you pictures of the article itself...but I can share a few pictures that we took of the little ones before they boarded their flight to California. Gosh, they were so excited to hear that they were heading West on a little vacation to the Sunshine State!!!

Here's Cobby, the Cornfield Creeper, as we arrived at the Village Gift Shoppe. Lookie at how excited he was...although for the entire drive down he kept insisting on hanging out the window like the family dog.

It's Been a Magical, Witchy Week!

Hi everyone and happy Wednesday!

I just wanted to share a few of the little enchanted ones that have been keeping me very busy recently and causing me to neglect my poor blog and all of you! I apologize for my absence, but there just doesn't seem to be quite enough hours in the day anymore! I have so many new, exciting and magical ideas brewing, that I'm having trouble keeping up with them! However, I always keep a sketch book handy...that way I can doodle the ideas as they come and make notes to myself for future reference. I'm not sure if it's my age or just the fact that I have so much info swirling around in my little noggin'...but if I don't hurry and jot the idea down...it's gone forever! I'm wondering...does anyone else have this problem?

I love to sculpt, and in the past year, I've been working with paperclay...but today I'm trying out a self hardening synthetic clay for the first time. I've been wanting to work with this product for about a year now...so wish me luck! I'll let you know how it goes!

Marcel...the Menacing Mime!

Happy Monday everyone!

I'd like you to meet Marcel, the Menacing Mime! He's the latest little enchanted one to come creeping out of the studio.

Last week, my dear hubby commented to me that I haven’t made a very spooky/creepy little one in a long time….and that the little ones no longer scared him! LOL! (Believe me, they used to really freak him out) Well….I pondered this and, at first, I thought maybe he was just becoming desensitized to them…but after flipping through the E.P. photo album, I realized that he was right! It has been a really long time since I've made some creepy little ones! So...Marcel is the result of turning up the creep-o-meter in the studio. I must be loosing my touch though, because hubby claims this one still isn't very creepy!

He does say that Marcel's long spidery legs and tiny pointed feet are creepy...but that's about it! I think he's just saying that though to challenge me to really creep things up! Stay tuned!

So what's the latest happenings going on around here...you ask? Well, first of all, I've finally set up my Facebook page...thanks to the encouragement of Carolee Clark (Musings From Behind the Easel). I really am enjoying it too! Thanks Carolee! Actually, I had already signed up for Facebook sometime last year, but could never quite find the time to set up my page. Then Saturday morning, while sewing, I accidently jammed a 6 inch doll needle under my left thumb nail! Ouchie! Ouchie! Ouchie! (My fingers are pretty tough and calloused from all the hand stitching that I do...but that one smarted!) Well, needless to say....I had a bit of down time, while I waited for the bleeding to subside....so I seized the opportunity to turn a negative into a postive and decided to set up my facebook page! The Official Halloween Season is Here and Check Out the "Dream" Dress!

Hi everyone!

Just wanted to pop in for a minute and let you all know what's been going on here at Enchanted Productions! It's been so crazy busy....but in a very good way! It's almost June and you all know what that means......June marks the start of the "official" Halloween season for me! Yay!

I know....I know.....many of you are scratching your heads and saying to yourselves......."but she does Halloween all year"....which is true. But every year, come June, I begin to ramp it up a little more (no lollygagging for me now) and I start creating even more little enchanted ones! (I so wish I could teach the bats and spiders to sew!)

Anyway, this Sunday's eBay auction will kick off the new 2009 Enchanted Productions Halloween season......and I'm just so excited....I could scream! In fact, I'm so excited that I'm giving you all a little sneak peek at the Halloween Queen herself! What better way to kick off the new season than with Halloween royalty! I've been wrestling with this one for over a week and a half now......and nearly pitched her out into the neighbor's compost pile several times.....but now I'm glad I didn't! Banana peels and egg shells are so unbecoming to a lady of this stature! So stay tuned....she'll make her debut on eBay this coming Sunday night at 9:30 p.m. EST.

Now....if you've been following along....you'll remember that I mentioned awhile back about a dream that I had about a doll dress and how I was beginning to work in my sleep. Well....that dress finally became a reality and you can see pictures of it and read all about it on Lori Davis' blog....Vintage Palette Art....in her May 23rd post about "What it Feels Like to Turn the Big 5-0". Amazingly, the dress turned out very much like the dress in my dream! I think there will be more dresses like this one popping up around here too. I really love to add texture into my work and this one certainly has texture!

Dreaming and Celebrating!

I'm still working on the "Dream Dress" I was talking about in my last post. I haven't had much time to devote to it yet....but it will definitely become a reality one of these days.

I have been, however, working on two swap items for fellow members of Ehag and Pfatt. I'll be finishing those up in the next day or two....as well as creating a few new little enchanted ones this week.

Also....we've been in celebration mode around here this past weekend, because yesterday was my birthday! Yay! Hubby planned a little gathering of friends and family and we all had a great time! Lots and lots of laughs, yummy food and CAKE! It truly doesn't get any better than that!

Happy Monday everyone!

Well.....it's official! I work in my sleep now! Yep! It's happened to me before....not often.....but it has happened and that's why I always keep a sketch book next to the bed. Over the years, I've learned that I need to pay attention to these things!

Early this morning, I woke up dreaming about a doll and now I'm obsessed with her. In my dream, I couldn't see her face though....all I could see was her gown, which seemed to be the main focus of the dream. I had just completed her and was standing there......slowly turning her around and checking her out one last time . The gown was so unusual.....nothing at all like what I normally create and I think that's why I'm so obsessed with her this morning. I want to try to capture that look! I've already started playing with some fabric combinations and treatments.....but this is something I've never done before....so we'll see how she turns out. I think I know what inspired this dream too.....but I'll share that with you later. Wish me luck!
Now on to this week's little enchanted one.

I thought I had rounded up all of the little monsters here at E.P., but turns out I found another one hanging out under the bed this past week.

It Feels like Christmas, My Birthday and Halloween All At Once!

It really, really does feel like Christmas, my birthday (which is later this month) and Halloween all rolled into one!

Awhile back, Dani Nelson of Ambitious Designs and Spooky Time Jingles, hosted a blog giveaway for a custom designed Skellykin! Well....her hand sculpted Skellykins are just so much fun and an absolute scream! Of course, I signed up.....ever hoping but never thinking that I had a chance of winning....but I did! I won! I was so excited! I also had the opportunity to actually talk to Dani on the phone and she was a pure delight! She had me look at a picture of past Skellykins on her blog and then she asked me a few questions about what I liked. She was preparing to take Spooky Times Jingles to the National Halloween Convention in King of Prussia, Pa. and so it was soon after that wildly cool event that my Skellykin arrived!

Here's the little fellow in all of his "tarted-up", glittered glory! Isn't he just a scream? WOW! I just absolutely LOVE him!!! Thank you again Dani......for your generousity and for sharing your talent with the all of us!

THEN.....I signed up to participate in the (members only) Ehag (Eclectic Halloween Artists Group) Anniversary Swap. It was to celebrate the 3rd anniversity of Ehag. Well.....lucky, lucky me......my name went to Kristen Beason of Kristen Beason Designs and just lookie at what I received in the mail last week!!!!!! This Edgar Allen Poe ornament is so fabulous.....he's almost beyond descriptive words! I about lost my mind over him!!! The raven's wing and Poe's face are both hand sculpted and painted....and those little feet just make me smile everytime I look at him! Thank you again Kristen! He's spooktacular!!!!!

THEN......as if that all wasn't enough.....I received the most incredible 'early' birthday gift from (Nana) Lori Davis of Vintage Palette Art!!!!! I have always drooled (and heavily, I might add) over Sheila Bentley's (Prim Dolly) Witchlets! Well......Nana knew I was planning to buy one.....but before I even had a chance.....Nana presented me with this early birthday gift! Isn't this little Witchlet amazing! Needless to say......I got all blubbery and mushy over this one!

I LOVE, LOVE LOVE her.........and Nana too! Thank you Nana!!!! You're the best friend ever!!!! Now hold on to your spleen Nana.....cause your birthday's coming up real soon and I've already started making your birthday gift! ; )

Monsters Under the Bed Meet "Annie"

Oh my goodness....I just had to share with you this moment of extra sweetness I received today! This is one of the reasons why I LOVE what I do!!!! It made me smile and puddle up all at the same time!

As most of you know.....I absolutely adore Lori Davis' granddaughter, Jadyn! She just turned 3 recently and she's the head of my Test Marketing Group for Enchanted Productions! (Actually.....she IS the test marketing group) If my dollies pass the "Jadyn Test"....then we're fine! It's when she takes one look at them and goes running...screaming from the room....that I start to worry a bit!

Anyway, I was a little nervous in the beginning as to whether these "monsters" would pass their test......but it appears all is smooth sailin'! In fact, they're a hit! Not only did she give them hugs and kisses.....but she decided to serenade them as well with the "Annie" classic "Tomorrow"!

You have to check out this video that Lori sent to me! Makes me think.....maybe we should take this show on the road!!! LOL! OK...ok.....we need to work on the lyrics a bit more....but we're real close! : ) Enjoy!

Ok everyone....I'm off to get things ready! Today is Papermache Pumpkin Play Day here at my house! I'm being joined by Lori Davis "Nana" (Vintage Palette) and Brenda O. (Little Dollings) for a fun filled day of playing in goop! We've decided that we want to try our hand at making some GIANT papermache JOL pumpkins! This is so exciting.....I can hardly wait to get started! None of us have ever worked with papermache.....so this could be interesting! Oh.....we'll be taking lots of pics to share.....so stay tuned! Fussy? I'd Say So!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I have some of the most amusing moments thoughout my work day here at Enchanted Productions! I'm always finding reasons to giggle....and recently....this was one of them! Now I have dried hundreds of doll heads on the drying rack in my dryer over the years....but for some reason....these two made me stop and laugh out loud! I was so amused, I just had to go find my camera and capture the moment! This is one of those space efficient, stacked washer/drier units....so when you open the dryer door....this is what you see at eye level. giggle*giggle

The first photo shows them after their initial eye drying time! I think it's obvious they don't enjoy that step! I can almost hear them saying....."Hey! It's HOT in here! Don't you ever do that again, Joycee!" But....of course.....I always do!

Here's Esmerelda after her flesh tones have been painted and a second round of drying time. Her mood still didn't improve! Good thing I hadn't painted her mouth on.......or I would have really gotten an ear full!

A Busy Week and A Little Witch

Hi everyone!

This week's been filled with lots of life's busy-ness and very little sewing. There were several doctors appointments, Hubby's fiftieth birthday, gatherings with friends and family, a shopping excursion to our local antique mall with family...and earlier in the week, I was able to help my dear SIL find a new apartment here in our little town. Right now, she lives about 4 hours away....but not for long! We're all so excited and happy that she'll be moving (very soon) to a nice new place less than a mile from our home. She's also retired, so I've been planting the seeds of the idea of putting her to work here at Enchanted Productions. giggle*giggle

I'm just going to share my latest little enchanted one with you in this post....but I'll be back soon though....with pictures from the Spring Open House, which took place this past weekend at the Village Gift Shoppe.....just as soon as I charge the battery in my camera! giggle*giggle I forgot to recharge it before hand (duh!).....so it died after only a few snaps! Thank goodness, Brenda O. of Little Dollings, was there and had a fully charged battery!

Blog Awards, 7 Things I Love and a Little Scientist Named Albert!

Hi everyone and TGIF!

It's been a busy week here at Enchanted Productions. After my bout with the nasty flu bug last week, I found myself....once again.....behind schedule! So this week, I put my nose to the grindstone and didn't come up for air for days! Well....I guess I was getting air somehow....cause I'm still here.....but you know what I mean. Sadly, there was no dilly-dallying or lolligaggy for me this week!

I did, however, receive 3 blog awards this past week! All the same award.....but from 3 different blog friends and fellow artists. I'm really honored that they would all think of me when passing on this Kreativ Blogger Award. Personally, I don't think my blog is as creative as it could be....and that it pales in comparison to others that are out there in bloglandia. I also wish that I could post more often......but I guess I do my best with what little blog time I allow myself.

Thank you to Iva Wilcox, of Halloween Alchemy (and Iva's Creations), Phil, over at Halloween Tinkering and my little buddy, Chris Klingler, at Designs by CK. I really appreciate the awards!

Now.....along with this award, I'm suppose to share 7 things that I love! So here goes!

1.) I'm going to lump my Family, Friends and Goo Puppy all into one here. That just goes without saying...plus it allows me to share more things.....since there are soooooo many things that I love in life.

2.) History! I'm such a history freak!!! Couldn't live without the History Channel!

3.) Old Cemeteries and Tombstones! I'm absolutely fascinated by the art work on old tombstones. I intend to start a collection of tombstone rubbings that I can frame and hang in my home.

4.) Geneaology! I used to be very active years ago in our local Geneaological Society. I loved tracing my family history and have found some very interesting ancestors. I'll be sharing a story about one of them very soon.

5.) Music! Music is a huge part of my life! There's always something playing in the background!

6.) Day Dreaming! Some of my best ideas come from day dreaming!

7.) Doodling in my Sketch Book! Usually a result of my day dreaming!

I know....I know.....he's not creepy or Halloween themed. What am I thinking? Believe it or not, every once in awhile, something fairly normal emerges from my creative endeavors! Actually, I've wanted to create an Albert Einstein doll for a long time.....and now seemed like the perfect time! The real Albert was born on March 14, 1879 in Germany and I know that because I just watched a biography about him on none other than.....The History Channel! So this is my little way of honoring this brilliant man! Plus.....he makes me giggle!

The F~Word!!!!!!!

Hi everyone! Noooooooo......it's not what you think! I'm not talking about THAT F-Word! I'm talking about the OTHER F-Word! It's such an ever so tiny little word.......but was the reason for my recent silence.....and the one that recently brought Enchanted Productions to a screeching halt! Yep....you guessed it!

The FLU!

As the mother of a type 1 diabetic, there's not much that strikes more fear in my heart than the FLU! The flu can be so dangerous for a diabetic and in many cases....hospitalization is a result. Even though they are not able to eat, a diabetic's bloodsugar can soar to alarming levels and they require almost constant monitoring! In the past ten years, since my son's diagnosis, we have faithfully gotten our flu shots and I have turned germ warfare into a new art form.....but recently, one of those little buggers managed to slip past me.

My son is much better now......still a little weak.....but much better. We also managed to avoid a trip to the hospital! Unfortunately, as my son was on the mend....I came down with it! I can't even remember the last time I had the flu.......but believe me....I won't soon forget this bout! I'll spare you the nasty, horrible, gut wrenching, details.......but I'm sure you can imagine. This was obviously a strain not cover by the flu shot!

I was lucky that I was a little ahead of the game when it came to my work.....so I WILL have something to list this week. I'll be back tomorrow with my update. In the meantime, I need to post a few pictures that were recently sent to me. Aren't these just adorable? They came from a new customer....Maria....and show her darling Mother holding Mr. McScaremetodeath. I think it was love at first site.....and I know he loves his new home! Thank you Maria for sending these wonderful pictures......and I appologize for the delay in posting them.

Thanks again everyone for stopping by for a visit. I probably won't be around much this week....but I'll do my best to keep up and stay in touch. Workwise....I'm trying to finish up a special project (which I'll fill you in on at a later time). Personally, I've had a family member who was critically injured in a car accident on Saturday. She's very special to me and I spent some time at the hospital on Monday, but she was still in surgery and having metal rods placed in her back, when I had to leave. Her back was broken in 4 places in the accident and we're all just worried sick. It appears that there is no paralysis....for which, we are all very thankful. I'm hoping to be able to get back up to the hospital soon and be able to see her in person.

UPDATE: My cousin came through her surgery very well! She can wiggle her toes and fingers and feel the little pin pricks on her arms and legs! She has a long road back to recovery...but my family is so thankful, because this situation could've been so much worse! Thank you for all of your prayers, positive thoughts and well wishes!

"The Jadyn Test", Yay! I Won! and a Warm Welcome!

Happy Monday everyone!!!!

Sometimes an artist's brain gets a bit mushy and you loose a clear perspective concerning the direction of your work. So it's always nice to have someone to go to who will give you their honest opinion. Larger companies use Marketing Research and Focus Groups to gather information concerning their products.....but here at Enchanted Productions....we use what has affectionately become known as "The Jadyn Test"! Yes......I hate to admit it.....but there is a 2 year old (well....she's almost 3) here in Ohio that serves as my focus group and marketing guru....and I'll tell you what....she's pretty darn accurate! Yes-sir-ee! This tiny tot has her finger on the pulse of the Art Doll world! LOL!

Actually, this is Lori Davis' granddaughter, Jadyn....you probably know Lori from Vintage Palette Art and the Village Gift Shoppe.....Lori is responsible for the fabulous photography of my dolls and also handles my ebay auctions. Every time I deliver a doll down for it's photo shoot, we always show it to Jadyn to get her reaction to and opinion of it. Now the key is.....if she smiles, giggles or laughs and wants to hug and kiss it....then that's a good sign! There have been times where she's said "scary", but still wants to hug and kiss it! That's still a good sign! On occassion though, she has shook her head from side to side.....said, "Nooooooooooooooo" and then runs into the other room! That my friends.....is NOT a good sign. LOL!

I'm happy to report that this week my "Lucy, the LuckyStar" did, in fact, pass The Jadyn Test! YAY!

Hi everyone! I just wanted to share this week's big event with all of you! Goo Puppy's 13th Birthday was Thursday! Her real name is Lexi (short for Lexicon.....a speaker line my hubby used to rep), but somehow that got turned into Goo Puppy.....and even though she's far from being a puppy....she still has her puppy moments! Actually, her real passion in life is napping! She's the bestest dog ever too......and she knows it......cause we tell her that all the time! Although, I don't think she really believes that she's a dog. She's a Border Terrier and a bit on the shaggy side at the moment. We've allowed her coat to grow out for the cold Ohio winter weather.....but come Spring she'll be back to her old sleek self again!

Hi everyone!

I'm just popping in here for a few minutes to share with you my two creations for this week! Love is in the air and Valentine's Day is just around the corner!

Now I don't know about you.......but sometimes those traditional, sugary sweet, sappy Valentine's just don't cut it! Here at Enchanted Productions, we tend to appreciate the darker side of things.......so to be able to tell my sweetie........"I will love you forever, always....and long after the flesh has rotted off of my bones!"........well......I think these Grim Gigglers say that and more! giggle*giggle

I know....I know......some of you might be thinking.......but skeletons don't have lips! Well......it seems as though little Velma here had just enough flesh left push a pucker out there!

Winter Wonder and a Big Welcome to Debbie of Tiny Treasures

View from my front door! It snowed all day yesterday!

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! And it's soooooooooooooooooo c c c c c c cold here! Looking out my window first thing this morning.......this all looked gorgeous.....so I meandered over to look at my digital outdoor thermometer. Hmmmmmmmm...... minus 5!!!!! "That can't be right!!!! Where are my glasses?" So I find my glasses and look again! Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.............yep that's what it said......minus 5 degrees!!!! YIKES!

I grew up in S. California.......and I swear.....I will never get used to this!

Here's my poor Moai statue. Bet he's dreaming of Easter Island right about now!

And here's one of my birdbaths in the back yard! I'm very amused that it looks like a GIANT mushroom!

And here's another one in the front yard! You know......if it wasn't so dang cold......I'd be out there with some paint or food coloring......adding some big red polka dots to those puppies! But since I could feel my nose hairs already freezing up after just the few short seconds it took to take these pictures......I'll just imagine that they have polka dots!

It's Ghostie Wednesday and a Big Welcome to Nikki Rowe

It's Ghostie Wednesday everyone! Yay! Well....that's what we call it around here! And it's my most favorite day of the week! It's the day that holds all of my most beloved television 'Ghostie' shows! Fridays rank right up there too.....but there's just something about Wednesday's television programming that I love! Hubby even hurries home from work on Wednesdays to watch with me......although he's one of those skeptic types! I think he wants to believe.....and he definitely believes in more magical things since he's met me.....but he still poo-poos a lot stuff. Sometimes, I think he does that just to take the opposite side....so we can have a discussion and debate! He loves to debate!

Anyway.....in honor of "Ghostie Wednesday"........tell me which is your favorite "Ghostie" show! (That is if you have one.)

The First Grim Giggler Makes Her Debut!!!

Happy Tuesday everyone! (I know, I know...I usually meet you here on Monday mornings) Once again, I've got my days of the week all messed up....one of the minor side effects of the Holidaze for me......but I'm only a day behind now! I'll catch up to where I'm suppose to be real soon! I promise! I had to spend most of yesterday dying wool....so my little ones won't all be bald.

Well.....the first of the Grim Gigglers is making her debut this week on eBay! I'm so excited! I've been wanting to design a series of smaller dolls for quite some time now.....and since my son is studying Radiological Technology.....there's always lots of talk about bones and skeletons around here....kind of a theme we've got going. Anyway....I began to wonder what an x-ray of one of my dolls would look like? You know.....if there REALLY was a skeleton in there! giggle*giggle My doll heads tend to be more square than others.....so I started picturing a more square shaped skull. I started doodling and playing around with different ideas and finally, one night last week....I had one of those 'AH HA' moments! I grabbed my pen and sketch pad and voila....Grim Gigglers!

The name, Grim Gigglers, came about from the first few sketches.....simply because they reminded me of tiny, fat Grim Reapers...and besides the fact that they made me giggle.....I began to imagine their own little giggles and sounds they would make, while scurrying about the house, making mischief! (sort of sounds like Alvin of the Chipmunks in my head....only much smaller)

Anyway, I have some big plans for these little ones.....but first things first. I need to design and actually make a few more of them. Don't want to get ahead of myself! Goodness....that would never do! And besides.....me?...........ahead of myself? Never!!!!!! giggle*giggle

Happy New Year everyone!

Just popping in for a few minutes! I hope everyone had a happy and fun filled New Year's Eve last night! We spent the evening here at home (all snug and warm) with my SIL, son, his girlfriend, and one of my son's buddies! (who's like a second son to us) We ate lots of yummy goodies, played games, ate, sang, ate some more and laughed and laughed! It was a great time!

So....as we bid farewell to 2008 and ring in 2009....I wish all of you a happy, prosperous and enchanted New Year!

A Ghostly Monk and The Last Dollie of 2008!

Happy Monday everyone! It is Monday....right? Last Thursday (Christmas Day) felt like a Sunday to me...so that should make today Thursday....but it's really Monday! Dang....I get so mixed up with my days at this time of year! Does anyone else have a problem keeping they're days straight?

Anyway....Like everyone else, I've been busy with Christmas gatherings and family and friends....but I did manage to create one last dollie before the New Year!

As many of you know, I've been fascinated by ghost stories and tales of hauntings my entire life. I've had several relatives that have lived in haunted houses (one cousin still does) and grew up in a family where unusual happenings, folk magic, herbal cures and supernatural occurances were common place. In fact, I was practically an adult before I realized that not everyone else experienced such things! Now I'm not saying that my family all wildly, danced naked under a full moon every month...far from that....we were raised with a religious background too....there was just a positive acknowledgement of the unseen and magic around us.

I'm also a huge history buff....especially British history....and since it's what I love and know best....I've decided to follow my heart in 2009 and incorporate more of it into my art year round.

So....with that said.....I'd like you to meet my latest little one.....Friar Timothy Mort!

Happy Tuesday everyone!

Sorry, but I'm running a bit behind in my usual schedule this week! Believe it or not I was sick again. I felt great for about 3 days last weekend....and then started with some upper respirtory coughing-thing! Real nasty too! I think my resistance was down from my first head cold.....which made it easier for me to fall prey to another germy-bug!

I'm back to creating again though and slowly getting ready for the Holidays! Hubby and I were finally able to get a little Christmas decorating done around the house.....and I do mean a little.....it's nothing like what we've done in past years, but it'll do for this year!
